Cookie policy

What cookies and similar storage we use on omnillew.com, why, and how you can manage your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to help site owners understand how people use their pages. This policy uses 'cookies' as shorthand for cookies and for similar browser-based storage technologies, including HTML5 localStorage.

Our approach to consent

Under PECR and the UK GDPR, we may only set non-essential cookies on your device with your consent. On your first visit, our cookie banner offers you two clearly labelled choices of equal prominence: 'Accept all' or 'Reject optional'. No optional cookies are set until you make a choice. There are no pre-ticked boxes. Closing the banner without choosing does not constitute consent.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's storage for this site.

Essential storage we always use

The following items are necessary for the site to function and are exempt from consent under PECR Regulation 6(4):

Neither of these is a tracking cookie. Both are stored locally in your browser and not transmitted to Omnillew.

Optional analytics cookies

If, and only if, you choose 'Accept all', we may set analytics cookies that help us understand how readers move through the site. These help us prioritise editorial work: for example, knowing which reviews readers spend the most time on, and which entry points lead to outbound visits to operator sites.

Analytics data is aggregated and pseudonymised. IP addresses are truncated before storage. Analytics retention is capped at 26 months. We do not use analytics cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not share analytics data with advertising networks.

No advertising or social-tracking cookies

This site does not run display advertising. It does not embed social-media tracking widgets (Facebook Pixel, Twitter conversion tags, TikTok pixel and similar). It does not load fonts or scripts from third-party CDNs that would expose your IP address to those providers.

Outbound operator links

When you follow an outbound link to a UK-licensed operator's official site, that operator's own cookies and trackers come into play under that operator's privacy and cookie policies, not ours. Omnillew is not responsible for the cookie practices of operators or other third-party sites you reach via outbound links.

How to manage cookies in your browser

All major browsers let you view, manage and delete cookies and local storage. The Information Commissioner's Office publishes plain-English guidance at ico.org.uk. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of this site, for example, the age confirmation modal will reappear on every page.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least annually and update it if we change our cookie practices. The current version was last reviewed in June 2026.
